Dr. Sam Lyons, is a dedicated pediatrician serving the greater Austin area. He completed his Bachelor’s of Science in Biology at the University of Idaho, where he also competed as a Division I tennis player. Dr. Lyons earned his medical degree from Texas A&M University and completed his pediatric residency with Baylor, Scott, & White at McLane Children’s Medical Center in Temple, Texas.
Before pursuing his medical career, Dr. Sam taught 9th-grade biology for three years in Dallas-Fort Worth, which fueled his passion for working with adolescents. He has extensive experience with all age demographics, from newborns to young adults, and has a particular interest in hematology, preventative medicine, and community health.
Dr. Sam believes in establishing strong relationships with his patients and their families, fostering an environment where families feel comfortable sharing nuanced information about their child’s health. This approach allows him to provide comprehensive and tailored healthcare recommendations.
Dr. Sam lives in Round Rock with his wife, Sue, their two-year-old son, and three dogs. They are excitedly expecting another son in the summer of 2024. He is excited to continue his journey as a community pediatrician with Modern Pediatrics, dedicated to serving the children and families of Austin with compassion and expertise.
